At first glance building a storage shed may seem like a relatively straightforward project.


But the reality is that if you want to build a shed that will prove to be a good investment of your time and money, withstand the elements, especially the wind and rain and keep your tools and whatever else safe and dry..then building a storage shed needs careful thought and planning.

Just like building a house you will need a solid foundation and generally this will probably involve the laying of a concrete, damp proof base.

A decent set of storage sheds plans will be an invaluable friend in building a storage shed.
But you must ensure that they are sufficiently detailed to give you bills of materials, detailed drawings and step by step instructions and blow up blueprints and detailing.

You may be reluctant to invest in a good set of plans but the investment is small compared to the overall project and will undoubtedly save you a lot of money in the long run.

So don’t be penny wise and dollar foolish..get yourself a good set of storage sheds plans and ensure that your investment of time and money pays you back many times over.

However if building a shed from scratch is too much trouble for you then you should consider vinyl storage sheds which provide a simpler kit solution.

Building a lean to shed can be a simpler solution for people who are not great at doing diy. It is a simpler project but will still need some lean to shed plans.
